International master Artyom Sadovsky won a blitz side event at the World Rapid and Blitz Championship

More than 200 participants of this tournament represented Russia, Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Italy, Great Britain, Estonia, Syria, and Israel
An open blitz tournament with 3'+2'' time control took place in the Manege Central Exhibition Hall on Sunday, December 30. It was an 11-round Swiss. The lineup included three grandmasters, but they did not succeed in winning it. IM Artyom Sadovsky from Tula Region took first place with 9.5 points. IM Alexey Savieliev from St. Petersburg finished half a point behind him on clear second place. Five players finished on 8.5 points, and the tie-break gave third place to grandmaster Pavel Maletin from Novosibirsk Region.
